Dockwise TALISMAN

Updated: The Fog Cleared.
The Dockwise vessel TALISMAN arrived this morning and tied up at Pier 30/31. She had Cargo On deck, but it was not clear through the fog what it was. She appers to have rigging to load cargo, however is otherwise empty. AIS Data lists her final destination as MULGRAVE (Located in the Straight of Canso, Across from Port Hawksbury) on the 25th.

UPDATE (06/30): The Deep Panuke Project Floating Production Platform was built offshore and delivered this week. Talisman is likely here to remove deck lashings and get ready for her next job.

Enchantment of the Seas

RCCL's Enchantment of the Seas Rounding Georges Island to tie up at pier 22.
Cruise ships will sometimes round the island on arrival or departure to give passengers a view of the city (and to show off the boat to locals). Yesterdays departure of Carnival Glory was different - though she was docked facing the inner harbour, she backed out of her birth, and turned in anchorage 1 - just as you would backing out of your driveway at home.

Corvettes were built Cheaply, and meant to last only a few years, as such preserving her is proving to be a difficult task, and Repairs are clearly visible (note the Welded plates, Corvettes were constructed entirely of rivets)

OOCL Hong Kong

OOCL Hong Kong Spent an hour in the inner harbour yesterday afternoon, presumably due to an issue with bridge clearances. OOCL Vessels usually pass with 2-3m (6-9') of clearance, so a particularly high tide could delay passage. Checking the Tide Tables for yesterday, the Tide was ebbing (declining), and an hour delay would only be about 20cm. (8").

Ships are often held if there is a potential Jumper on the bridge. This also would result in traffic Being stopped.
