USCGC Juniper to visit Halifax

U.S. Coast GuardCutter Juniper, homeported in Newport, R.I., is scheduled to arrive at the Maritime Museum wharf around 1500 this afternoon. She will depart late afternoon on the 17th. She is Visiting as part of USCG Titanic Commemorations, having Completed her mission to scatter 1.5 million dried rose petals over the final resting place of the RMS Titanic, on April 14, 2012, as part of a memorial ceremony for the 100th anniversary of the tragedy.

Another USCG Visit

USCGC Thunder Bay (WTGB 108) is due at the Pilot at 10001230.
She is A Bay Class (all class members are named for Bays) Icebreaking tug, based out of Rockland Maine. She arrived in fog, and Tied up at pier NB (AKA November Bravo, Navy B).

Update:
Mac, of Shipfax, informs me she will winter in the Great Lakes, providing Ice Breaking services.

USCGC Campbell

USCGC Campbell (WMEC-909) is a United States Coast Guard medium endurance cutter based at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard in Kittery, Maine. She tied up at Pier Navy B4 this morning.

On Her transit of the inner harbour, It appears she had a keyed mike, as she was the only vessel that could be heard on VHF Ch12.

Another USCG Visit

After Last weekends visit of USCGC Jefferson Island (WPB-1340) (Sorry for the lack of coverage, I was out of town) This weekend brings us a visit of USCGC Willow (WLB-202) a 225′ Juniper Class Sea-going Buoy Tender based out of Newport RI.
She arrived this morning, and is tying up at the dockyard.

USCG Eagle

CG Eagle arrived and Anchored in Anchorage 1. She will move to the Cable Wharf at 0830 tomorrow, and will be open for tours Tomorrow afternoon and throughout the weekend.

Originally named SSS Horst Wessel, she was is a sister ship of the German navy tall ship Gorch Fock. Built by Blohm & Voss in Hamburg, in 1936, She was handed over to the Americans as war reparations after the second world war.
