Training exercise off McNabs Island could cause stir
Four to six coast guard vessels of various types and a helicopter will be involved in the search and rescue exercise. They will be simulating a search for a lifeboat and possibly looking for people in the water. The exercise will also involve lifting people out of the water.

Rolls-Royce supply vessel for Canada
Atlantic Towing Limited (Canada) has entered a long term charter with the Canadian oil and gas company EnCana Corporation for the vessel which will be built at the Halifax Shipyard in Nova Scotia. It will operate in the Deep Panuk field off the Canadian east coast.

Ships of BIO (Bedford institute of Oceanography)


The Bedford Institute of oceanography is home to many coast guard research vessels. Note The Aerials in the Background – those belong to Halifax VTS, up on Shannon Hill.
