The Tall ships are coming July 19 – 23. While the details of the Nova Scotia stops are thin, The American stops feature a significant Non-sail naval presence to commemorate the war of 1812 along with the Tall ships themselves. Though not confirmed for Halifax, these are some likely Sail Attendees.

BAE Guayas (BE-21) – Ecuadoran Navy
KRI Dewaruci – Indonesian Navy
ARC Gloria – Colombian Navy.
NE Cisne Branco (u20) – Brazilian navy
SPS Juan Sebastian De Elcano (A01) – Spanish Navy
USCGC Eagle – US Coast Guard

I would also expect a significant NATO Presence around this time, due to their stops in the US – Including HMS Talent, RFA Argus, FGS Hessen, HDMS Absalon, and KNM Thor Heyerdahl.

The Amistad Arrived in port this afternoon, and tied up for the start of tall ships, the bulk of which are expected tomorrow, from Boston. Expect lots of coverage over the coming days

Melfi Marine to drop Hailfax port for Montreal
After almost 16 years Melfi Marine is dropping Halifax as a port of call in favour the Port of Montreal.

Cruise season over for Halifax-built ship
Pearl Seas Cruises said it had to cancel the remainder of the 2009 Eastern Canadian and St. Lawrence Seaway cruises because of deficiencies with the Pearl Mist recently discovered during sea trials, quality issues and construction delays.

arrived in halifax from Quebec today.
The ship is open to the public Tuesday from 3 p.m. top 5 p.m. and Wednesday and Thursday from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. A welcome ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. Tuesday.She departs Thursday for Boston.
