The Bottom Arrives.

yesterday brought the arrival of the Hull of Atlantic Griffon to Pier 6, Undertow of the tug Fairplay 31. Her Topsides arrived earlier this month aboard the Happy Sky, and they will be re-assembled

  1. Is cutting up a finished ship and then reassembling it in Canada a scam to avoid customs duties and other regulations? Will they get a way with it?

    • i think it was built in 2 pieces.
      this is how Irving Shipyard built thier previous vessels.

      yes – i think its a tax avoidance scheme. Importing ships are subject to a 25% duty.
