Todays G6 Arrival to fairview cove is the Virgina, formerly APL Virginia. Owned by NSC Schiffahrts GmbH, she is of the same yard and Design as Zim Haifa, Zim Beijing and Zim Savannah, all of which are regular callers in Halifax.
She was built in 2005.

After a recent lull, this morning brought a stream of traffic. First up was APL Pearl on the weekly G6 Assignment to Fairview Cove.
Next was the general Cargo Ship Jana, Who was last here in January. She went to Anchor, and May be carrying more rails for CN, As was the case her last stop.
Finally Albanyborg Arrived to anchored in Anchorage 1.

Today brought the Foged in arrival of the MOL Paramount for Fairview Cove. the MOL Paramount is now running as part of the G6 Service, Previously serviced by APL and Hapag-llyod Vessels.
MOL Paramount previously visited Halifax as part of a shared service with K-Line. In that Service, 3 MOL vessels rotated with K-lines *Bridge Vessels. The Photo Above is from that Service.
UPDATE:
Shipfax reports that on entering the harbour narrows, MOL Paramount had a control issue, and came dangerously close to the Dockyard. Adm. John Newton, Commander of MARLANT, tweeted the following pictures, presumably taken from his office, just past the Macdonald bridge.
The Second image is most interesting, as it shows crew on the roof of the bridge, which is typically setup as an emergency conning Position.
Looking at the vessel tracks, they are not abnormal – note that the track is well away from the force protection booms, and even aligns with what we expect in our monthly traffic average image.
APL Beligum spent the day at Fairview Cove, port side to the Pier.. Ships Tend to prefer to back into the births, as they can steam straight out. When She Departed, just after 1600, the tugs backed her out into the basin, and she then proceeded forward through the narrows, in a move similar to one you would make backing out your driveway.
Ships at piers 41/42 at Halterm will also turn on arrival, So the Bow Faces in the outbound direction.
In this case they probably wanted to touch up some paint, or do some other work on that side of the vessel.
This weeks caller on the g6 service is APL Cyprene. She has been here before.
Today brought a first visit to Halifax for the Berlin Express. Arriving from Caligri, she is likely on the G6 service (Though wasent initially named to the rotation, her 3 other class mates are. As a member of Hapag Llyods Dalian Express Class, she is 7500TEU, and is Identical to Dalian Express, Yantian Express (Both vessels have allready called on Halifax) and Ningbo Express.
Hapag Llyod vessels on the PAX Service range between 4000-6000TEU and Are members of the Kiel, Kobe and Dallas Express Classes.

it looks like Halifax Regular Italy Express, has returned from a work period, and has returned to her pre Hapag Llyoyd name of OOCL Vancouver.
Hapag-Lloyd and OOCL operate a shared service to Halifax. Some OOCL Vessels on the service were operated by Hapag-Lloyd and therefore took Hapag-Llyod “express” names. Presumably the charters ended, and this may be part of the reson why some vessels aggined to the new G6 service made early appearances.
The APL Cyprine Arrived around 10 pm last night, and is the first vessel to reach Halifax on the New G6 Service. She sailed Just after noon today, bound for New Jersey.
Halifax previously had visits from Hapag Llyoyd vessels Dalian Express and Yantain Express, which will be assigned to the new G6 service.

Recent Halifax visitor Yantain Express was first vessel on Scene After the MOL Comfort Broke her back and sank, of Yemen.
MOL Issued a press release:
MOL-operated containership MOL Comfort, while under way from Singapore to Jeddah on the Indian Ocean (12’30”N 60’E) at about noon JST (07:00 local time) on June 17, 2013 during inclement weather, suffered a crack amidships and ingressing water in the hold. This made it impossible for the vessel to continue on under its own power.
Some of the containers on the vessel were lost overboard or suffered damage during the incident. Details are being confirmed.The damage to the MOL Comfort is extensive, while the 26 crew members took to lifeboats. All were safely rescued by other vessel in the area.
MOL Vessels previously Stopped in Halifax as part of the Grand Alliance with K-line, MOL is also a partner on the new G6 Alliance, which will see Yantain Express making regular calls to Halifax, though MOL will not be providing vessels to this service.
UPDATE: MOL Comfort was previously APL Russia. APL will once again be calling in Halifax as part of the G6 Alliance. MOL Comfort was relatively new, Built in 2008, and at 4500TEU well within the size of vessel that normally calls in halifax.
UPDATE: It seems the 2 haves are still Afloat.
