HMCS Sackville Salutes HMCS Toronto

Update May 18 2009:
HMCS Sackville fires its main gun in memory of Rear Admiral William Moss Landymore. Rear Admiral Landymore served in the navy for 33 years and was recognized for his wartime service during the Battle of the Atlantic. His ashes were spread outside Halifax Harbour during a committal ceremony aboard HMCS Toronto on May 1.

Aqualife comes to Port of Halifax

From the Article: “Aqualife Logistics, which has developed a process to move live seafood intends to develop a new service out of Halifax that will deliver product to central Europe. Maersk Line, which had been a regularly scheduled caller to the port, has been designated the carrier for the new business, likely between June and August.”

CKYH Brings Box Service to Halifax
The CKYH alliance (Cosco Container Lines, “K” Line, Yang Ming and Hanjin Shipping) plans to use eight “K” Line vessels – Staring Sunday May 3 out of Halterm.

M/V Swan delivers Seajacks Kraken

M/V swan, Sister ship of Tern, which was in halifax earlier in the month to move HMCS Chicoutimi, has arrived with the Brand New Seajacks Kraken, which is on contract for the Sable project.

“Seajacks has confirmed that it has signed the final contract with ExxonMobil Canada for Seajacks Kraken to work as an offshore accommodation unit for the Sable Project offshore Nova Scotia, starting in May 2009 for a 4-5 months period.

Seajacks Kraken is currently being constructed at Lamprell in Dubai and is on schedule for delivery in February 2009.”
