The General Cargo ship Thorco Liva tied up at pier 9 to load cable Tanks. the tanks are frameworks used to transport Subsea cables. The cable will Likely be picked up in the US. International Telecom is Headquartered at pier 9, and operates two cable layers registered in the Bahamas. they are likely the source of the cable tanks, and the end users of the cable.
Thorco Liva was built in Japan in 2012.
Last night brought the arrival of another general cargo ship to pier 9. There appear to be cable handling gear on the pier which may be loaded aboard.
Spiekeroog was built in China in 2013. She carries 2 45 ton cranes.
Seim Haine (Working for Scunda) Atlantic Condor and Breaux Tide (Atlantic Towing) Tied up at Pier9 last night.
The general cargo ship Noranda Madeleine arrived at pier 9 from France yesterday afternoon with a new Drilling Riser. The Foam Buoyancy modules are already laid out on the pier, and as the riser pipe is unloaded it is assembled.
The Noranda Madeleine is due to sail tonight, and presumably at that time the riser will be loaded onto the platform supply vessels and transported to the Stenna Icemax.
If the Noranda Madeleine Looks Familiar, Its because she was a regular caller to Halifax as the Jan Van Gent for Nirint.
UPDATE: Besides adding a current Photo, She appears to be in the process of naming back to Jan Van Gent. Her stern is still painted Noranda Madeleine, but the Bow is in the process of reverting back to Jan Van Gent. See Shipfax Yesterday for a photo under the new (old?!)name.

Combi-lifts ship Palmerton tied up at pier 9 Last Night. Part of Combi-Lift’s CL900 class each crane is rated to 450tons, or 900tons combined lifting power. She is also Ice Class E3. Built by the Kouan Shipyard in China she and her 6 classmates were built between 2009-2010 (She is First of Class)
No word on what she’s offloading, though its likely some sort of project cargo.
Originally supposed to tie up at pier 9, she took to anchor in the basin on arrival. She may be carrying more drill pipe.
UpDate: She tied up at pier 9 Monday Morning
The BBC Moonstone tied up at pier 9 and has been unloading drill pipe. This is possibly for use with shells upcoming explorer you drilling program in the shelburne basin.
BBC Vermont arrived late Monday with additional Kone overhead cranes for the shipyard, tieing up at pier 9
Another general cargo ship – Ocean Crescent has tied up at pier 9C. A great pier for visibility, you can see exactly whats going on – which in this case is not a lot.
US Flagged, and Homeported in New Orleans, She sailed from Houston, and may have additional KONE overhead cranes for the shipyard. Built in 2002, she features 2x 200ton Lattice boom cranes which give her a somewhat unique look.
She is owned by Intermarine, and managed by Crowley
