In, Out, and staying awhile.

(Above) Arsos backed into pier 42 just after noon. Shes running on the New ZIM Canada Florida Express service to Jamaica. Heading out from Autoport was Taurus Leader (below). Shes bound for New York.

Seamax Stamford (Above) is at Pier 41, calling on the Maersk line Med/Montreal express(MMX) service . The Bomar Rebecca (below) is hanging out at Pier 26. She was offloaded earlier this week, and went to pier 26, presumably to wait out Hurricane Florence. She sails for tropical shipping, which canceled their sailing this week.

Bilbao Bridge and MOL Partner spent the morning at Fairview Cove. Both vessels represent 2/3s of ONE – the New shipping line that is the Merger of NYK, MOL and K-Lines container businesses.

Bilbao Bridge, Serving The Alliances AL6 service  (below) was scheduled to sail at Noon, but didn’t get away until after 1pm.

MOL Partner, operating on The Alliances’ EC5 service,  is not scheduled to depart until this evening.

At Halterm, Skogafoss is spending the day, scheduled to Sail at 16:30, along with Asian Sun for Tropical Shipping. The Car Carrier MONZA anchored for Gypsy moth Inspection, before moving to Autoport for 1pm.

This morning saw 3 ships tied up at Pier 41/42. Oceanex Sanderling took up he usual spot at pier 41, and came off the dock at 11:45 to head over to Autoport. Warnow Sun, for Russian firm Atlantic RO-RO took up the Middle position. She is scheduled to sail this afternoon, though cargo operations appear to be complete.

Emskip vessel Skogafoss had the southern most position at pier 42, and Departed for Portland Maine at 11:30 (below) Skogafoss just coming off the dock Outbound.

 

Busy Day # 2 – Dalian Express

following closely behind Atlantic Sun, was Hapag-Llyod’s  Dalian Express. A frequent caller over the years, the ship went to the basin on arrival. Built in 2001 as Hamburg Express, She was renamed in 2011 to free up the name for a newer larger vessel. Shes Rated at 7502TEU

Not a Holiday at Fairview Cove.

Despite today being a holiday, the ships were stacking up at Fairview cove. Sunday night brought the arrival of YM Express to the west birth. She Sailed Monday morning, and was replaced by Budapest Bridge, while the east birth was taken up by Atlantic Sea, both arriving early morning. When Budapest Bridge sailed late afternoon, MOL Partner was finally able to take up her spot Mol Partner is currently scheduled to sail just after midnight, Atlantic Sea is due to depart Tuesday afternoon, having had her ro-ro decks worked Monday, and her containers Tuesday.

 

First Call for Maersk MEX Service

Today brought the arrival of the CAP Portland, marking the first call of the Maersk MEX Service.

The fully Maersk Line-operated weekly Med/Montreal express(MMX) service will be a five-vessel rotation stopping in Salerno and La Spezia (Italy), Fos-sur-Mer (France), Algeciras (Spain), Montreal and Halifax (Canada), and Valencia (Spain). The First voyage of the  service, began on July 2nd, departing from Salerno, Italy,

The MEX Service will be served by EM SPETSES, SAN ALESSIO, SAN ADRIANO, GERRIT BRAREN, and CAP PORTLAND

The New Service will compete with ZIM’s ZCI service, and The Alliance’s AL6

in other Maersk news, the Longstanding Maersk Service is running with Ships SEAMAX STAMFORD, EM KEA, ARICA and maersk Panang, making Panang the last Original Maersk Vessel Running on the service.

Late Arrival – Jona For Melfi

A Late Arrival tonight, Jona tied up at pier 41 just after 7pm. Jona is actually running for Melfi Lines, despite carring CMA-CGM branding. Jona arrived from Lisbon and is due at Mariel Cuba on August 1st.

The ship carries 3 x 45Ton cranes, and is rated for 1853teu. She was built in Ningbo, China, and entered service in 2007 as CMA-CGM Togo.

Jona is among recent charters, joining the Melfi service in December 2017. Catharina Schulte has canceled her August 06 Call, Making August 21st Maiden call of Julius-s the next stop for the usually bi-weekly Melfi service.

Halterms Noon Departures

2 ships got off the Dock at Halterm just before Noon today. Skogafoss (Above) sailed for Portland, Maine from Pier 42. She was followed by Oceanex Sanderling (below), Who was moving to Autoport from Pier 41.
